Description
Shincha is a type of Japanese green tea made from the season’s first harvest. It has a delicate, fresh flavor and is highly prized for its quality. The tea harvested on the “Hachiju-Hachiya” day, which is eighty-eight days after the beginning of spring, has been cherished as a symbol of longevity and good fortune since ancient times. It is considered a precious new tea associated with the blessings of eternal youth and longevity.
“天雫” (Amashizuku) refers to the blessings from the sky, encompassing the natural forces and gifts that contribute to the cultivation of tea. The term “天” (Ten) symbolizes nature and the sun, which sculpt the soil and terrain ideal for tea cultivation, creating the perfect conditions for tea through rain and morning mist. “雫” (Shizuku) signifies the blessings from the heavens, including rain and morning mist, representing the nourishment that comes from above.
The Amashizuku series from Yame Tea, specifically the Hoshino Tea from Yame, Fukuoka, is the result of these natural forces and blessings, combined with the dedication of producers to improve quality and their skilled techniques.

The village experiences a mountainous climate with drastic temperature changes between day and night, and is nourished by the clear waters of the Hoshino River, creating an environment ideal for tea production. The rich natural surroundings of Hoshino Village cultivate tea with a deep sweetness and a rich aroma, offering a unique and unparalleled taste experience.
Hoshino Tea from Yame
Hoshino Village, renowned as the premier production area for Gyokuro, acclaimed as “Japan’s finest.” Nestled deep within Yame, Hoshino Village benefits from a mountainous climate with drastic temperature changes between day and night, along with the clear streams of the Hoshino River—conditions perfectly suited for tea cultivation. The deep sweetness and rich aroma of the tea nurtured by the abundant nature of Hoshino Village offer a unique taste that is unparalleled.
The green tea component “epigallocatechin gallate (EGCg)” is easily extracted at high temperatures above 80 degrees Celsius, while the umami component “amino acids” is easily extracted at low temperatures. “Caffeine” can be reduced by brewing tea at low temperatures.
Storage method: Avoid high temperature and humidity, and if possible, store in the refrigerator, and be careful not to transfer the fragrance.
